Artful Artist or Illustrator (non-fiction)

This role focuses on creating a visual response to literature. Students are expected to create a drawing, cartoon, flow chart, photograph or even video that reflects on a specific event of topic covered in their book. Usually this assignment taps into the students personal response to their reading but it can also diagram a concept or idea. When the artwork is shared during group discussion, the artist remains quiet while the group interprets their work. Finally the artist has an opportunity to speak and explain the meaning of their image.
The apps selected below will be useful for drawing, painting, creating collages and photographs. It is important to keep in mind that several content creation apps work well together. It is not unusual share files between apps when creating an image.
